The Supreme Court of the United States recently overturned Roe v Wade, giving the responsibility of determining abortion laws to each state.
The reaction from different religious groups has been varied, depending upon their official stand on abortion, with many who are upset about the ruling focusing their anger on those who have been labeled as "the Christian right."
But, it is not just Mormons, conservative Catholics and evangelical Christians--those who make up the majority of "the religious right," who stand in defense of the unborn. There are at least 8 secular pro-life organizations in America and pro-life factions within some religious groups that endorse abortion, such as Anglicans for Life.
Many people, both religious and non-religious, who believe in reincarnation are pro-life, while others might assume that abortion is OK, because they figure that the soul can just find another body to enter. But, not all those who embrace the concept of the reincarnation of the soul agree with that.
